Since 1995, Smith has written hundreds of business plans, business proposals, and marketing plans. He has launched more than fifty start-ups. He has served as an interim leader for many companies including Chief Executive Officer; Operations Chief; Vice President, Sales and Marketing; Director, Business Development; Store Director; and Project Manager.

Smith has written, published and distributed eight business development guides and magazines. He has also served as a public speaker on the subjects of marketing, sales, business development and capital fundraising for small businesses. He is currently a weekly instructor for the Access to Business Capital program throughout California. Throughout his career, Smith has built a personal database of more than 5,000 business consultants who support small business entrepreneurs. He has personally built three sales organizations in excess of 100 associates creating millions in revenue for each company.

While at SoCalBizOps, Smith created the Certified Business Plan™. It is an 87-paragraph, 9-section, thoroughly researched business plan that requires more than 100 hours to complete. To be “certified,” a SCBO Project Manager conducts the following process: Ensures research validates all claims; requires completion of all 87 paragraphs; 26-section marketing plan; Use of valid financial forecast models; requires a detailed bibliography.

Smith supervises up to thirty associates in project management, sales, and marketing. In the past three years, Smith’s team has produced more than 250 business and marketing plans. Specific experience producing plans in retail, internet-based, environmental, energy, photography, grocery, service-based, sales organizations and hospitality industry businesses.

Education - University of La Verne, B.A. - Business Administration with a management emphasis. Summa Cum Laude Honors. Smith has been a full time student since 1991 and has attended Chapman University, Fresno City, Citrus College, Rio Hondo College, and has attended dozens of sales and marketing seminars, courses, and retreats. Proudly, Smith is a Veteran of Foreign Wars – having served in the United States Marine Corps from 1988 to 1993.



Terry Harrison - Harrison has worked for the Smith’s since 2006 and serves as the Director of the iBank University. Previously a writer and assistant to Michael Josephson at the Josephson Institute of Ethics, Harrison is a professional business plan writer and researcher. Harrison was also an entrepreneur while running a business networking company called “The Relationship Building Network” (RBN). Harrison teaches all 8 sessions.
