Our Story

In 1997, future iBank founder entrepreneur and 13 time small business owner Thomas Markel dreamed of creating a portal to allow small business owners to find information a small business owner may need, connect with other small business owners, and allow access to centers of influence such as: lenders, consultants, insurance agents, and investors. www.iBank.com is the result of that vision.

In July of 2004 iBank v1.0 was released. The portal allowed small business owners to become members and create an on-line digital loan application that could be shopped to lenders. By December of 2004 it was clear that the model was good but needed to mature. Over the course of the next 5 years, Tom reinvested all of the iBank earnings back into the technology and created a state of the art matching and data delivery system, a virtual chamber of commerce for the small business owner, a search engine rivaling google, bing, and yahoo, and the remaining centers of influence: consultants, insurance agents, and investors.

Tom Markel is the founder and CEO of Virtrue Capital Corporation www.ibank.com. America's largest online small business financing network with 350,000 small business members and 10,000 new small business joining monthly. Mr. Markel is also founder and CEO of Credentrust Software, Inc www.credentrust.com. Mr. Markel, in 1995, founded the largest mortgage REIT on the American Stock Exchange ("IMH"). The REIT grew to more than $1.7 billion in assets by August 1997, when Mr. Markel sold his interest in the Advisor to Imperial Credit Industries, Inc. He was formerly Senior Vice President of Lepercq Capital Partners, a New York City-based investment bank. Mr. Markel was the initial founding board member, former chairman and currently serves on the board of directors of Feeding America Food Bank in Orange County. He is a member of the Order of Malta and Legatus International.

NETWORK DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE

Position Profile

iBank.com is looking for Network Development Representatives to work in our Costa Mesa, CA Headquarters. This position will report directly to the Sales Manager and will be responsible for recruiting several business services networks of professionals serving small business owners nationwide.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

• Market iBank business services networks to professionals including: consultants, loan brokers, insurance brokers, lawyers, accountants, angel investors and others.
• Share with the network members ways to improve their business through iBank.
• Schedule, organize and prioritize daily call volume.

Knowledge/Skills/ Experience/Education

• Previous business development/prospecting experience
• Creative, detail oriented and capable of meeting deadlines
• Communicates effectively via the telephone.
• Good people and project management skills.
