Our Story

 
In 1995, future iBank founder, entrepreneur, and 13 time small business owner Thomas Markel founded the largest mortgage REIT on the American Stock Exchange ("IMH"). The REIT grew to more than $1.7 billion in assets by August 1997. Tom currently serves on the board of directors of Feeding America Food Bank in Orange County and is a member of the Order of Malta and Legatus International. Tom is also founder and CEO of Credentrust Software, Inc www.credentrust.com

In 1997, Tom dreamed of creating a website that would not only connect small business owners to influential professionals such as lenders, insurance agents, and investors; but, would take a holistic approach to growing small business. www.iBank.com, America's largest online small business financing network, is the result of that vision.

In July of 2004 iBank v1.0 was released. Nick Way, Chief Executive Officer

Nick started with iBank in 2011 as the Business Development Manager and grew iBank's lending department by 100%. He has 15 years experience in banking, commercial real estate, and sales. Nick graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Communication Studies from Wright State University. He is currently the CEO and is responsible for the strategic direction, financial growth, and leadership of iBank.

Eric Hannan, Managing Director

Eric Hannan is a serial entrepreneur and came to iBank a few years ago after successfully running his own marketing company: BE Marketing Concepts, which did over one million in sales and grew to around 100 employees in just its first year. Before that, Eric was the #1 sales rep for a Fortune 500 company. His sales and marketing experience has proved invaluable in growing and building the company as our Managing Director. He now considers himself an intrapreneur within the organization and has a huge passion in helping small businesses in their journey.
 
Jordan Diemert, Senior Financial Analyst
 
Jordan started with iBank in May 2013 as an Accountant and Financial Analyst. He graduated with Bachelors in Finance from California State University, Fullerton. Jordan has 5 years experience as an Accountant and 4 years experience as a Financial Analyst for property management companies. He is responsible for Accounting, Forecasting, and iBank's Bookkeeping service.
  

Chris Gonzalez, Managing Director of Business Development

Chris started as customer services and sales at iBank with experience in sales, networking, and business growth. Chris then became one of the account managers with the Professional Network and helped grow the network of lenders. After three months, he became the Managing Director of Business Development for iBank utilizing his financing, marketing, and organizational skills.

Ai Mong, Human Resources Manager

Ai Mong brings to the iBank team not only experience in Human Resources Management but also e-commerce, event planning, and non-profit community outreach. Starting as a Human Resources Intern in June 2013, Ai has quickly moved up throughout the company. She has a passion for Human Resource Management. She is responsible for recruitment, payroll, compliance, and planning our exciting social events!
